Hometown - Cruso, a little community in WNC.
Inspiration - People that
are heros by bearing daily burdens we all must carry...the people that inspire me are most often
the overlooked.
Family & Friends - This category goes on the top of the list...A great husband, three
healthy and kind children and a such huge wonderful, southern family and large group of friends. I have lived the
American dream when it comes to being loved by others.
What's Fun - Loving my family, singing loud,
hiking, camping, kayaking, fishing, reading, laughing with my family, spending time with my family and friends, tickling
my children, riding motorcycles, eating marshmallows late by fire, building something with my hands...and the list goes
on...
What's Irritating - Really mean and nasty people. We all have some form of control towards
others lives and I think it poor when you use that power to belittle others due to your own unhappiness and misfortune.
Be kind - it will make the world a better place- one person makes a difference...make a good difference. I have made
a bad difference a time or two in my life (I know some are re-reading the last sentence, ok I've had my ups and downs
but try, at least a little. I do.) Oh...litter bugs really get to me too....don't be lazy because only trash
litters and it's our job to keep our world clean. I have seen some people that if I were President (Disclaimer:
I am not or will ever be in running for office so no fears for the individuals I depict next.) I would have an automatic current
charged into your lazy hand if you dropped trash again. No, I would not harm anyone with this crazy current, well child
molestors, but for the litter bugs I would give you a good jolt. Anyway, that is my mind in a nutshell.
Art
History - The community that I was raised in offered little at the time for the arts, however evolved into an upscale art
community. I was able to perform in a small play at the local high school then the small church community, for
no good reason, objected to a well rehearsed play yet the show must go on and like any young group of artist we picketed the
actions then found a small play house in Asheville to put on our play. Although attendance was low it was a turning
point in my views of the arts and life. Poetry was what filled my young days when all other evil was not. So writing
was rare but greatly appreciated for that was one of my only constructive hobbies at that point. Young girls - get some
hobbies! Also in the youthful list of art accomplishments I was our Art Club President although my disclaimer is Angie
Phillips deserved it. The rest is history. I have taught myself much of what I know and along the way I have become
wiser and glen what I can when I can and dive straight into what I think I can figure out myself. The most important
art tool that I possess is that I love my work and failure is part of success.
